Go to the dollar store and see if they have different colored glitter, some school glue, different colored ribbons and maybe some holly berries and xmas tree garland. Put a little glue on the tips of each pine cone layer and sprinkle a little glitter. Go from there with the ribbons and garland, etc. Make sure you have plenty of newspaper down to protect all surfaces and keep the glitter contained. I use paper under the glitter so I can put the fallout back in container. Have fun. Hope you like.

You can also just spray paint them gold or silver and place them in a bowl with some fresh greenery and holly for a festive centerpiece.
You can apply glue to on the edges of the pine cone and shake glitter over the glue. Silver and gold look really pretty.
