Why do my jar candles seem to burn uneven ? It seems like they burn to one side and then I'm left with the wax that didnt burn up the side of the jar. These are store bought candle.

trim your wick to 1/4" before you start burning then to put out the candle push the wick into the melted wax ( it rewaxes the wick to light quickly allowing no smoke) then relift it out immediately and let it stand upright till the next burn then retrim to 1/4" ... if while burning you see smoke coming off the wick it's too long .... the trick is to keep your wick trimmed and allow no smoke including lighting and putting it out

if you do have black use a paper towel reach in the jar while it's not burning and wipe it clean it comes right off

i saw taper candles burning on a mantle under a sloped ceiling. Each candle had burned for the same amount of time and were identical. They all burned differently to match the slope of the ceiling. Most interesting. Could a ceiling vent affect yours? A cold window on the high wax side?

Thank You Grandma MEMA, first I must say I had to laugh when I saw your name. I'm also called MEMA. You don't see that a lot. But thank you for the suggestions. Have a Very Happy Day

Suellen, thank you. The candlesthat are the worst are the ones toward the window. Guess today when I burn them I'll try turning it around.

It could be the wick isnt centered or there is a draft causing the flame and heat to be pushed to one side,or the table it is on isnt level.

Thanks Patricia, I know my table is level. Not sure about the draft. That could be one of the problem. I appreciate your suggestion. Have a Great Day.
