When can I safely pick wisteria seed pods?

I have some seed pods on my wisteria that are slowly turning brown but are still somewhat green and velvety. I picked and partially opened one. The seed was well formed but was not the dried and brown that I have seen online. A day later the pod popped open. Because of the weather I am watching them every few days to make sure they don't pop open and I lose the seeds. Can I pick the pods now and hopefully have good seeds to plant?

As long as the seeds are mature, you can dry them yourself. The other way will be to put a bag around the pods so that it will catch the seeds when the pods burst. I hope this helps!
