i would not contact paper it. have it sprayed with apliance paint. or on some modles the front casings can be removed and a different panel put in place. check with appliance repair people.
IN YOUR LOCALPAINT STORE -- look for an epoxy APPLIANCE spray paint-- FUMES usually are bad - use great ventilation-- not a wintertime project-- cover everything in sight to prevent overspray damage! Wear a paint mask- do not breathe fumes--- as little as possible ... it works and it's gorgeous-- spray lightly - aim for smooth even coverage. Start on the TOP for practic, and on the back/side where it's not usually seen-- to get the feel of the process- PRACTICE MAKES PERFECT! Work from top down toward floor. After spraying -- DO NOT TOUCH --- leave it totally alone!!! The directions will give a drying time-- then DOUBLE that-- just to make sure, and that lets the surface "cure" for a while! You should end up with a fantastic finish when completed! OH YES-- be sure and wear disposable latex gloves--- you don't want a painted finger tip in the process! By all means- DO NOT WORRY OR FRET OVER IT -- the paint is very forgiving! If you have uneven spots-- you can always lightly touch up later-- no one will be the wiser! GOOD LUCK!!! (Later, after panting-- do not use harsh cleansers - just warm soapy water/rinse- to keep appliance clean!). I have done this- that's why I have all of this firsthand info to share!!!
There are paints made for appliances... If you have a Sherwin Williams Paint store in your area... go there and get some paint samples....there are many different shades of white.... and some of them will custom make spray cans of paint for you... use the primer and paint system (compatibility issues) that they recommend for best results... make sure that you use the pre-cleaner that is best for the paint and primer you use... for an end result that will last.
You can buy appliance paint just for this purpose. Ask your paint pro at any home improvement or hardware store to recommend a brand as well as whatever other tools needed for a professional finish.
Appliance paint. You can go whatever color you want (almost).
