Spray paint, add decals, glue on buttons, glue on anything that catches your eye. Thrift stores have lots of decor stuff. Tie a ribbon around, add flowers, give to friends or use as table decorations. Decorate and share with pre-schools, senior centers. Glue on seasonal decorations, add candy, give to delivery people as a thank you. Add trinkets or personal effects and give to family, as a remembrance box. For grade school age, buy small collectible items and present to them a collection box, instruct them to add to their collection. On the lid, glue a painted spool or figure, as a topper. You could also add your name and date and their name to personalize it. Have DIY fun!
