R.V.R. Farris on Mar 24, 2014The leaves and flowers of your plant, Carol Speake -The Gardening Cook, look like the camellia plant. I don't have any Peonies, but, their leaves are supposed to be deeply lobed according to Wikipedia. Take a look on Google at both plants and see.Helpful Reply

Wanda sinnema on Mar 24, 2014camellia,,,, there are many winter flowering varieties,,,, many now have slightly different foliage, deep lobed leaves, varigated, etc..I have a winter flowering variety..its blooms are red and white, sort of blotchy....its called St Nick, or Jungle Bells s or something holiday related,,, alway blooms in Dec-Feb...I can't seem to kill it.... or get rid of it..it was planted in a bad spot, is messy ,,but it came with the house..Helpful Reply

Patricia W on Mar 25, 2014Camilla! I have a red one blooming right now, they can be pruned at the bottom to grow into a very tall tree like shrub! Keep the ground under it very clean, and feed it with a food for acid loving plants.Helpful Reply
