How to Rewire a Lamp

I recently found this Restoration Hardware gourd lamp at a local thrift store for an AMAZING deal, but once I got it home I was disappointed when it didn't work! I was bummed out and had never wired a lamp before, but because the lamp was in PERFECT condition and such a great deal I decided it was worth the effort to rewire it, and I am SO GLAD I DID! I saved money on restoring this lamp versus buying a new lamp. See full tutorial and more pics here:http://decoratedchaos.blogspot.com/2014/02/how-to-rewire-lamp.html

Unplug lamp and unscrew lamp shade and bolt at base of lamp to disassemble and remove old lamp socket by unscrewing the wires from the bolts/nuts.
Purchase rewiring kit at hardware store and rethread both wires thru base up through lamp.
Once the wires are at the top they should look similar to this.
Attach one wire to each bolt/nut by wrapping the wire around the nut/bolt and tightening it with a screw driver.
screw in your lightbulb and plug in to test your work. DO NOT touch the socket anywhere near the bolts and wires!
Reassemble your lamp by screwing your lamp parts back together and ENJOY! Now you know how to rewire a lamp!
