How to hide cat liter box
-
The Garden Frog with C Renee on Mar 26, 2014Years ago (about 22) I bought a premade sink base and put a nice top on it and cut a hole in the side for the 'cat bathroom'. I wanted to use a piece of furniture but I could not find a piece that I had the heart to cut a hole in and use. An older end table- think 70s with the doors would probably work but my largest cat was 23lbs and about 2' long and so normal cat litter boxes did not fit his behind. LOL I also used a large shallow plastic tote that was about 30" so he could fit and so I had to use a 48" base. I moved it several times throughout the years until it fell apart a couple years ago (and the oldest cat had passed away). I now have 2 cats who do not like using the litter but meow at the door to go outside! It is great! They are housebroke along with my dogs. However, I do have a litterbox in the garage and a doggie door (because my garage is a workshop not a 'car' garage). The cats during out coldest spells used the litter box when temps dipped to 10 degrees. Hope this helps. good luckHelpful Reply

Patsy on Mar 29, 2014As a cat rescuer I have to tell you that cat litter boxes should not be placed in rooms where the door may be closed and they don't have access at some point in time. This will result in accidents and your cat developing medical problems form "holding it."Helpful Reply

Capernius on May 26, 2015There are lots of cabinet & tables with built in spaces for litter boxes... if you or someone you know is a handy woodworker, you can even make one. The custom litterbox furniture is endless(and expensive), but for a woodworker, all they need do is study the furniture piece & they can usually build it for a lot cheaper cost & a lot better quality.Helpful Reply
