Chalk Paint Yellow Dresser

First try with chalk paint on a freebie little dresser
Chalk paint, dark wax and new hardware spruced this little dresser right up with minimal effort.
The old and the new.
Dark wax keeps the yellow from looking too "baby nursery-ish" and new hardware adds just a touch of rustic.

Michele Eures on Mar 28, 2014You stated that you had some trouble with the wax. I tried the dark wax too, and I think I used just a little too much. I removed some of it by going over it with the clear wax and then to get the sheen you want, you need to wait a few days and buff it again. I think the little dresser is cute, though! Good job on your first attempt.

Doreen Schreiner on Oct 30, 2014I have read that you should always use clear wax over chalky paint. If you want to use dark wax it should be used over the clear so you don't get dark streaks. You can also use clear wax as a kind of "eraser" if you apply too much dark wax. Just rub some clear over the dark to take away the streaks.
