I have an oak entertainment center that is 10 years old just wondering if it can be whitewashed.

You can use any paint as a whitewash by diluting it with water

Yes, there are two ways that I've done. Each you can do with just one color or different shades of the same color to give a more aged look to your item. 1. As others say, dilute it with water. Depending on whether it's homemade or namebrand chalkpaint you may still want to sand a bit. This method tends to have more of a brush stroke effect. 2. Paint on the chalk paint in no more than 3 sq ft sections. Wait approx 5 minutes, then gently go over it with a clean wet rag. This gives a smooth wash appearance and shows less of a brush stroke effect.
