Build a Bed & Headboard From Reclaimed Wood

by Matthew Weber
Using reclaimed T&G pine, plywood and framing lumber to build a heavy-duty rustic style bed.
This rustic style headboard was made from reclaimed lumber.
The old lumber was slow-growth tongue-and-groove pine I pulled from a house built in the 1940s that was going to be demolished.
I built a heavy-duty bed frame using 2x4s, with 6x6 posts.
Using a plywood backboard, I "framed" the reclaimed boards with 2x8s and then rejoined the old T&G joints for the field of the headboard. You can check out the entire step-by-step story with measurements and full photo set at www.extremehowto.com.

I know you are talking about the headboard, but my great-nephew is totally in love with dinosaurs, I'm wondering where you found/made those great pillows!
