Painting outside porch

Vangie Alexander on Mar 31, 2014Prep work is the utmost importance. Make sure the porch is absolutely free of any dirt. Also when you paint temperature is also important. It must stay above 13* C till cured.Helpful Reply

Virginia V on Apr 01, 2014Having it clean and dry is critical. Prep is the key. Not sure if your striping it first, power washing? Sanding? Priming?Helpful Reply

Gail Baker on Apr 06, 2014Thanks Vangie & Virginia, appreciate it. I really thought I had prepped properly & also worked around the temperatures, as we had painted previously with good results. I thought maybe it was the paint...but it may have been me. I'm going to be sure to prep extra well, pay attention to the weather of course & also may invest in better quality paint. I won't be doing it for at least two months yet-weather not right in the "great northeast" for a while yet! I will post later in the year as to how it comes out this time. Thanks again!Helpful Reply
