Karri on Apr 03, 2014Have you considered using chalkboard paint? That may be easier than cutting down a chalkboard to fit. if you wanted to smooth out the top and make it one piece you might be able to use wood putty or bondo, sand it then paint with the chalkboard paint. Lex263207 on Apr 07, 2014Whether you attach one or paint it on, you could also add trim pieces around it to give it a more unique & detailed look. Ready-to-paint decorative trim can be purchased at the big box home improvement stores. They can cut it to your dimensions. Add with liquid nails or wood glue.Helpful Reply
