JL Spring & Associates on Jul 09, 2011If it's weather stripping you desire with an upper end twist, simply go to Home Depot or Lowes and get a brass adjustable door bottom with new rubber fins...if only a regular ones are available, you can get a brushed aluminum, stainless steel or brass kickplate to put at the bottom to disguise the weather strip...Best wishes, I hope this helps... You may even be able to remove the door from the hinges and install new weatherstripping from the manufacturer... JLHelpful Reply

Kathy T on Jul 12, 2011Hi, thanks so much for replying to my inquiry. I was talking about weather stripping, but not sure what you mean by this - "... with an upper end twist, simply go to Home Depot or Lowes and get a brass adjustable door bottom with new rubber fins. What's an upper end twist? Sorry, I'm a real novice and not familiar with thses terms. What U originally was a small sware, sort of, almost like a ribber weather strip shim slim on one end and slightly thick at the other end.Helpful Reply

Kevin M. Veler, Law Office of on Jul 12, 2011The big box stores have a a small vinyl coverd wedge insution that goes into the very corner of the door frame to seal the corners if the gap is between the door edge and the frame. They are called corner seals. I found 4 for $2-$3. The ones I found were by Frost King.Helpful Reply

Woodbridge Environmental Tiptophouse.com on Jul 12, 2011I will chime in on this as well. Depending on the door type, you can purchase replacment rubber strips for the bottom of your doors, These oftethimes slide right into the door bottoms. Also some doors have adjustable thresholds. This would be typically made of a wood strip that has large screws mounted flush with the top of the board that comes in contact with the door gasket. By turning these with a large screwdriver you can raise and lower this thus tighten or loosen the gap between the door gasket and the threshold. If your seeing a gap between the doors like a little hole, then you need to find out the name of the door that was installed. There are special gaskets for double doors that will seal the little space between each door corners where they meet. A good quality lumber yard would have to order these for you. You will not find them in any of the big box stores.Helpful Reply

JL Spring & Associates on Jul 12, 2011Hi again Kathy, I found a picture of a typical adjustable door sweep/insulation/draft protection strip available at all home stores for under $5 If you can't replace the nice door weatherstripping fins you have, then you can attach this to your upper-end door ( Just a very nice entry door I got the impression you had) and then get any of several metal or acrylic kickplates to give the door a little pizzaz...Might have to noodle around on line to find just the perfect look and door bottom accessory...Hope this is a little clearer! Sorry for any confusion! best wishes, take a picture and post where others may have even more ideas! JLHelpful Reply
