Story of an Antique Flatwall Cupboard...

Sometimes furniture isn't just furniture… sometimes a piece becomes ingrained in your family history!
yes... sometimes an investment pays dividends of a different kind!
This flatwall cupboard is one of our favourite pieces…
Not just because it is beautiful but because of the story behind it…
Would you like to hear it?
It involves, rain, pouting and our first fight as a married couple.
Pop over to the blog and find out how this piece found it's way into our home and into our hearts!
P.S.... I know Hometalk has a lot of natural wood lovers that like to see refinished wood stay unpainted or altered so I am just going to tell you right off the bat... This piece came into our lives with about six coats of paint on it. It was sad and misused and we have redone it to suit our tastes. I hope you like it as much as we do! :)
I just love the clasps...
Some of the drawer bottoms are made from shipping crates stamped with the mark E.B. Eddy Man’fg Co. Hull, Canada.

I've never seen a cupboard quite like this one. I bet that the previous family didn't know how beautiful it could be again. You scored BIG! and I love the finish even though I'm not a big whitewashed fan. But it works to this piece's advantage.
