Red Twig Projects

While out and about in Montana this past couple of weeks, I found some of the most beautiful bushes growing wild everywhere. I've been here many times when it's warm, and green, but never when there were no leaves on the trees and bushes. I guess that's why I've never seen these before. I don't have many supplies here, and so I gathered some of the twigs and made a couple of projects with what I had. I have steps on my site with more detail, but I thought I'd share my project.
I have more steps on my site, but I basically didn't have any of my crafting supplies and tools, so I played around a bit with some mason jars, fishing line and red twigs from outside.
I used a very short votive for this lumanary. You certainly wouldn't want to use anything that could have the potential to have a flame above the jar...otherwise, you would need to trim the sticks off at the top of the jar. I know this seems obvious...but you'd be surprised.
It also makes an awesome vase for arranging those flowers you pick up at the grocery store. Works better than any floral frog I've ever seen!
I couldn't resist taking a wire hanger...and making a wreath from these same red twigs. It's amazing how much you can get done with no supplies!
I did eventually go buy a little moss and ribbons to dress up my wreath. I made this cute little birds nest to place on my wreath
I played a little more with some cheap flowers found locally here...not much to choose from, so I found the ones that said spring the most to me.
