Bright and Cheery Family Room Reveal

Our family room was a great size and had nice bones, but it was a little dated and dark. Our goal was to create a bright and cheery space that would make guests feel welcome and at the same time be pet and kid friendly. With a lot of sweat equity and some DIY projects we were able to pull off the exact look we were going for on a small budget!
We used a gray and white color scheme to give the room and calm feeling and punched up the energy with accents in yellow and mint.
We added height to the fireplace to give it a grander feeling and gave the whole thing a nice coat of bright white paint.
A salvaged hotel console table was given new life with a Greek key design, while the TV is anchored by oversized industrial prints in DIY frames.
A large and comfy dark gray sectional anchors the room while a DIY industrial table provides plenty of space for drinks and impromptu coloring parties.
I love that the room is fun and colorful and yet still feels adult enough to entertain in. It's come a long way from the brown and beige we started with.Get all the shopping sources and info on our DIY projects at:
