Jeanette S on Apr 11, 2014I love the Ralph Lauren color Cottonwood! It is a true khaki and should go well with your pink and gold. As for the accents, I would add them in my towels, a cranberry red instead of with paint. You have enough different colors in there now. If you are going to keep the floor and pink fixtures for a while, go ahead and pick one of the near whites like Duron's "Coconut Twist" which is a white pink. Then add beautiful cranberry in towels. Put in a white shower curtain. By the time you redo all the other things in there, you will want to repaint anyway and can pick any color you want!Helpful Reply

Shari on Apr 11, 2014I agree with Jeanette S., consider using maroon or deep red in your towels, accessories etc., and not as a paint color. The sink cabinet really needs to be brought into the 21st century and if you do not elect to paint it, at least consider staining it a darker shade like dark walnut or a jacobean color (and replace hardware). In my opinion, leaving the current wood tone will "undo" all your attempts to update the bathroom (unless you are going for a retro/mid-century look). It screams 1960s to me. In fact, my parents had a home built in the early 60's that had these same color/syle cabinets in the bathroom and kitchen (with pink fixtures). This picture was like deja vu for me!Helpful Reply

Suz on Apr 13, 2014I witnessed a designer painting a bathroom burnt orange that had pink fixtures. I thought her idea was crazy until we saw the results.Amazing how it changed the pink and toned it down. Took on a whole new tint. She added burnt orange knobs to the "wood" vanity and lovely art work. The towels were antique white.Helpful Reply

Betsy Bodrero on Apr 13, 2014paint the cupboards in the bathroom white. Then you will be able to dabble a little red in bathroom accessories ( cups, tissue holder ) and the room will sparkle.Helpful Reply

Kathy on Sep 07, 2014Easy update for those cabinets!! Get cove moulding in appropriate size for size of your doors and cut corners @ 45 degrees (with doors off and lightly sanded) position your "frame" on your door and attach (once you know it all lines up) with liquid nails and paint what ever trim paint you are using ! Finish by sanding lightly on rest of cabinet so paint will take to surface and paint that, give doors a second coat and change out the hinges if you want a change there and reattach to cabinet...stand back and look at your new "raised panel cabinet doors"!! We did this with some really old cabinets to outfit an inlaw apartment and loved the result! What a money saving change with a new updated look.Helpful Reply
