End Table Makeovers

This 1970's type of furniture is a piece of furniture I can paint without getting any negative feed back on destroying " good " furniture, I'm sure LOL.
It was in awful condition - and I do mean AWFUL - the top veneer was completely ruined - bubbled and flaking - the drawers were wonky - the color was yuck -
I painted it with Annie Sloan Graphite - and then went over the top part with Modern Masters Pewter ( a metallic paint ) creating a zinc effect...............
I created this by making a " wash " out of the metallic paint - 1/2 water - 1/2 paint - brushing it on - and then wiping it with a damp rag - " dragging " the rag across more than " rubbing " it..................
I spray painted the handles silver
I usually wax the furniture I do - this time I opted for a couple of coats of polyurethane - water based - satin finish - ( I was too lazy to wax to be honest with you lol )

I then painted 2 mirror I had on hand to match - they'll be hung over each end table in my daughter's bedroom
and called them " done "
A little better, don't you think?

This is beautiful. Love the mirror on top makes it more elegant for sure! But truly you do you! If you want to paint...paint. I like both wood and paint. Always do you. I am 50 and I still listen to my mom, If you cant say anything nice then don't say anything at all.
