This 1970's type of furniture is a piece of furniture I can paint without getting any negative feed back on destroying " good " furniture, I'm sure LOL.
It was in awful condition - and I do mean AWFUL - the top veneer was completely ruined - bubbled and flaking - the drawers were wonky - the color was yuck -
I painted it with Annie Sloan Graphite - and then went over the top part with Modern Masters Pewter ( a metallic paint ) creating a zinc effect...............

I painted it with Annie Sloan Graphite - and then went over the top part with Modern Masters Pewter ( a metallic paint ) creating a zinc effect...............
I created this by making a " wash " out of the metallic paint - 1/2 water - 1/2 paint - brushing it on - and then wiping it with a damp rag - " dragging " the rag across more than " rubbing " it..................
I spray painted the handles silver
I usually wax the furniture I do - this time I opted for a couple of coats of polyurethane - water based - satin finish - ( I was too lazy to wax to be honest with you lol )
and called them " done "
A little better, don't you think?

Zebbie Hardy on Jan 21, 2016This is beautiful. Love the mirror on top makes it more elegant for sure! But truly you do you! If you want to paint...paint. I like both wood and paint. Always do you. I am 50 and I still listen to my mom, If you cant say anything nice then don't say anything at all.
