Is this a Pink Magnolia tree in Bloom? I saw it at a house for sale and it is just beautiful! Smiles, Cyndi

I think it is a magnolia. Drive by the house a week later and all the blossoms would be on the ground. They don't last long and are messy but are beautiful when they are blooming.

Yes Cyndi, I believe you are correct. At first I thought it was a dogwood but I'm pretty sure it's a pink magnolia. It's beautiful. You don't see them growing here in Florida. I also used to loved the Bradford Pears blooming this time of year in NC....breathtaking.

Maybe messy in AZ, because if the heat, but here in PA they last a longtime and the petals on the grass look like fairyland.

Looks like a Tulip Magnolia. The flowers usually blossom before the leaves are very visible.

Have one in my yard that I rescued from a lot next door to me. Love it. I'm the only one on the block with a Magnolia.

I live in Texas and we have a miniature version of this magnolia and the blooms are exactly like this. We were told It will only get to be about 10 ft tall.

I live in Southern California where these trees grow and bloom beautifully. The correct name is Chinese Magnolia. I have three different varieties. The name of your variety is solangiana (spelling may be wrong). I love these trees and I don't think they are messy.

here in South Ga we call them Tulip Trees but my brother who is into horticulture said it is a saucer magnolia and there are different varieties.

I have one; my mom always called it a tulip tree. But when researching, saucer magnolia is what it seemed to be . Sadly I made a mess of trimming it; be very careful.

Linda, I have never seen one in AZ but when I lived in Iowa they were somewhat popular. That is when I thought they were messy after the blooms dropped.

It is a saucer magnolia, a tulip tree has way different flowers - it is messy when the flowers drop but so beautiful with it's flowers in the Spring as long as Mother Nature doesn't come along with a late frost like she did this year! It's our cook-out shade tree. When you prune young branches, they're easy to bend and use to make wreaths!

It is a Japanese magnolia or saucer magnolia. Here in the South, folks often call them tulip trees but this is so confusing, since we also have a tulip poplar that is not related to magnolias. This tree is deciduous and blooms in spring, unlike the Southern magnolia which is evergreen and blooms later in the year. http://gardeningsolutions.ifas.ufl.edu/giam/plants_and_grasses/trees/japanese_mag.html

@ByLightOfMoon Check out this one in Montgomery, AL. This is the largest one I think I've ever seen (at least when in bloom, when I would recognize it easily).
