This is what I had to start with.... got it on the cheap but could see the potential. It's 6' long and had huge drawers.
Painted the entire piece with a thin coat of Rustoleum white. Sometimes oil base is the way to go. Just don't like the clean up.
Added 2 layers of dense foam cut to size and glued down with headliner adhesive.
Since I used oil based, it tough so I didn't have to apply a topcoat. Will only get better with age! Had to replace one drawer slide but the are cheap!
Ready to be enjoyed by whomever buys it from my booth. Love it but no room for it here. I have 1 more to do and want to go with red and ornge tones. I think it needs storage baskets slid in underneath it for shoes... what do you think?
In it's new but temporary home.
Enjoyed the project?

Teresa on Feb 05, 2015I really like this. I agree with the baskets underneath for shoe storage. I think that would make it more complete. This would look great at my front door so my grand daughters can take their shoes off and place them in the baskets!! Thank you for the idea and it's very beautiful!!!!
