Judy on Apr 18, 2014I don't know what it is but one person's weed is another person's flower so if you like it, keep it. I think it's beautiful too & I'd absolutely leave it be.Helpful Reply

Amanda DeLoach on Apr 18, 2014Its not lambs ear. I came across this same type plant the other day growing wild by the road side only difference was the flowers look just like wisteria they are considered a weed but I wanted it for my yard I dug it up and brought it to my yard it died immediately even though I took great care with it. They are beautiful I am in South GA.Helpful Reply

Rhonda B on Apr 18, 2014Like others have said it is a Lupine-my guess would be Lupinus villosus. Here is a link that might be useful: http://hawthornhillwildflowers.blogspot.com/2012/11/lady-lupine-lupinus-villosus.htmlHelpful Reply

Gardens By Design, LLC on Apr 19, 2014It's an ornamental mullein. Verbascum is the hybrid name. The leaves give it away. http://utgardens.tennessee.edu/pom/verbascum.htmHelpful Reply

Douglas Hunt on Apr 19, 2014I believe @Rhonda Brady is correct that this is a Florida native lupine. I have spent all-too-much time on the Hawthorn Hill site. It is an excellent source for Florida natives. You should treasure the fact that you have it growing in your yard.Helpful Reply

Michelle Eliker on Apr 20, 2014It"s beautiful! It stumped me because the color and leaves are very different from the CA lupines. I wonder if it would grow here? It'd look great in my cottage garden!Helpful Reply

Helen on Apr 28, 2014Yep, if it is Lambs Ear, it will grow and grow and grow, the plant just keeps on giving. Great for a border or a nice looking clump. I planted a bunch of little clumps and this year I have to divide each one x 5 plants/clump. I just use a shovel and cut out a section. Those tall flowers will fade and you can just cut them back to make it look nicer. You can dig the whole plant up if you don't want it there and replant it. Doesn't require much more than a little water and a little soil. I could be wrong though.Helpful Reply
