Is there a way to turn a headboard/ footboard into a porch swing?

Jeanette S on Apr 20, 2014I am not a carpenter, but you could probably go to a garden center and look at the construction of a swing to see what you need to do. Make a sketch and take some measurements...noticing the pitch of the back as well as the angle of the cuts. I think most swings have drilled holes and then bolts in them. Also, you will need to measure and sketch the chains/ropes. Good luck...this should be a fun project.Helpful Reply

Swe349334 on May 28, 2014Hi Snow, Pinterest has many links to sites that have instructions. Here is a link to one I thought might be of help. It will take you to a blog that shows step by step instructions. http://judysturman.typepad.com/in_his_grip/2010/04/bed-to-front-porch-bench.htmlHelpful Reply
