How do you clean bricks from around the fireplace mantle?

Woodbridge Environmental Tiptophouse.com on Apr 22, 2014If there has been paint on the surface of the bricks at any time, your pretty much out of luck with any home remedies to remove the paint. Using an aggressive method such as sand blasting or soda blasting will remove the paint in short order. There are small machines that you can rent or purchase that are inexpensive but require a fairly large compressor for the air to work. If you only have a few small spots here and there, try using a water based type paint stripper and apply it using a cotton tipped swab. In any case this is not an easy project and you need to take your time. But normally once paint gets into the pores of the brick your pretty much done.Helpful Reply
