Homemade compost tumbler

by Audra Bailey
All I had to purchase was the pvc pipe and a lock for this compost tumbler. I used some scrap 2x4's to make the frame, ran a 2 inch pvc pipe through the center and added 2 elbows to make a handle. Inside i ran 2 poles from a leftover closet rod on each side so the tumbler would turn and it also will help mix up the compost. Added some holes and a small door with hinges and a lock for easy access.

Oh, I Love this! I saw one like this at Costco up here in Vancouver and it was about $200. if memory serves me right. Mine is sooo hard to get the new soil out of the wee little door at the bottom.
