Spill-Over Spa, Built Inside the Pool, Provides Perfect Solution

Although we specialize in portable Bullfrog Spas hot tubs, we are also known for creative custom spa installations. It was natural, then, when a previous customer of Long Island Hot Tub moved, they came to us again for a special custom job.
Their family had grown to include three young children and safety was now a major concern. They wanted a spa to go with any new pool, but two separate automated safety covers, for both a pool and a spa, would be expensive.
In order to give them all the features they wanted, our team designed a geometric pool with a “built-in spill-over spa” recessed inside the pool. That way, only one automatic cover was required for the two bodies of water. In addition, special automation allows the homeowners to isolate the spa from the pool, and heat only the water within the spa.
The project includes a patio, with a lounging area made of Techo-Bloc pavers, that look like brick -- all bordered with handsome bluestone.

In order to require only one automated pool cover, the spa has been built in a handsome geometric pool. When not in use, this project’s pool cover coils up at one end of the pool where its powerful motor and mechanisms have been artfully hid.
Using a pool cover when the pool is not in use saves money, as well as much of the time normally dedicated to keeping the pool free from debris. The easier a pool cover is to use the more you will use it, so an automated pool cover is ideal - especially when safety is a concern.
You can step out of the spa directly onto the patio, or into the pool to enjoy a swim and relax on the pool’s tanning shelf. Another option: after some rejuvenating spa hydrotherapy, continue de-stressing on the patio’s elegant lounging area.
Embedded umbrellas provide flexible shade opportunities. The umbrellas not only offer shade but help delineate different use areas of the patio. In addition to brick-like Techo-Bloc pavers, with bluestone edging around the pool and spa, an upper patio area includes special multi-hued New York bluestone; lush landscaping adds additional color and natural beauty.
