"Vintage" Welcome Sign From Used Cabinet Door

After finding an old showroom display cabinet door in the "as-is" department at Ikea, I knew it would make the perfect large scale sign for my front steps.
The original door looked brand new so I aged it used school glue and latex paint to achieve an aged crackled finish. I then stenciled it and distressed it to make it look more vintage.
I love how it came out, especially considering the total investment was under $5 http://www.thekimsixfix.com/2014/04/vintage-welcome-sign-from-ikea-cabinet.html
An original white cabinet door goes through a complete transformation, courtesy of some wood glue and paint.

The original door I found in the As-is section at Ikea. Total investment: $2
A layer of tacky school glue before paint will result in a crackled weathered appearance.
