Lavende on Apr 27, 2014They sell decorative decals for exactly that purpose, for putting onto walls or furniture temporarily. I've seen them at some craft stores, at TJ Maxx type stores, and occasionally at Target.Helpful Reply

Karen Kitty Collier on Apr 28, 2014We had gotten some peel and stick butterflies in all sizes to put on our daughters bed and wall. They do not peel the paint off of the walls but it does add a pop of color.Helpful Reply

Donna Byram on Apr 28, 2014What about covering some thin foam board with some wild print that she likes and use 3M Command strips with velcro to attach it to the center of the headboard? You could also do it in the inset on the foot board too!Helpful Reply

67497 on Apr 29, 2014I suggest the thin foam board with fabric attached with spray adhesive then attached to the wall with command strips. Very easy to change out and will have a big impact. You can do the easy to remove peel and stick decals on the dresser and night stand. If you can sew you can make a simple headboard cover as well. There are a lot of possibilities for the room. Have fun with it.Helpful Reply

Becky Cabrera on Apr 29, 2014Aw, that's so thoughtful of you Liliana. I can't even put into words what she means to me...she's my first and we have the same name (Rebecca). When she was born my mother told me 'now you know what grand is.' Ever since she was little, I've always always told her she and I shared the same heart.Helpful Reply

Cheryl on May 04, 2014I was thinking of a soft burlap panel made w foam core and attached to inset of headboard w removable Velcro. Maybe some thrift store ornate picture frames spray painted w gloss white, arranged on the wall around the headboard.Helpful Reply

Valerie on Sep 08, 2014My son's family rents their house and they have 3 daughters. I bought command strips and in each of the girls rooms, I used material draped on the command hooks for the older one's room. For the two little ones, I used foam core board from the Dollar Store and got children print material and made big panels to attach with command strips on their walls for color. I sewed up some throw pillows for all three bedrooms and they love it. I am sure for an older girl's room, you could adapt and older kid's taste but it is inexpensive and quick and the impact can be as much as you want it to be. It's a lot of fun to do. I used material, wall paper I found on clearance and glitter!!!Helpful Reply

Becky Cabrera on Sep 08, 2014You have provided some fantastic ideas, Valerie. And you are so right about their tastes evolving and me adapting. Since I posted this months ago, my granddaughter has changed her mind a few times about the colors and styles she wants. I'll show her this post!Helpful Reply
