Vintage Valances

Lavende on Apr 27, 2014I love them! They'd be adorable as pillows - pick a nice thick /fabric in a bold color to accent the little flower girls. Then cut these out, I'm thinking a nice square around them to keep the feel of the original, embroider it in the center of the fabric and make a pillow!Helpful Reply

Laura Romanowski on Apr 28, 2014This is a Sunbonnet Sue design and is often seen on vintage or historic quilts. (and my favorite pattern!) Using them to make pillows would be a lovely way to 'up-cycle' your grandmother's work. Or you could commission a quilt using them as well.Helpful Reply

Sherrie on Apr 28, 2014I was at my Doctors office the other day. They mounted full quilts under glass in one room, in another they had the quilts mounted but not under glass. They were stunning! Just as this ine is stunning!Helpful Reply

Nancy Hatcher on Apr 30, 2014Definitely do NOT cut them up if you want to retain the vintage/antique value! I would get a couple of wall hanging rods and hang them in your bedroom or.......... You could also give one to your sister. I have a quilt my grandmother made with the Sunbonnet Sue pattern that I use in my guest bedroom. Very cute!Helpful Reply
