Are Wolf appliances worth the money compared to Electolux appliances?

We are going to be redoing our kitchen next winter. I am going to use induction cooking since gas is not an option. I want to use a counter depth full refrigerator and a separate counter depth freezer. I had settled, in my mind, on Wolf appliances. However, when I look at the cost of these appliances my mind yells at me. I happened to see online some Electrolux appliances that are much more cost effective. I am also wondering about resale value. Will using Electolux instead of Wolf bring down the profit gain of our work? Thanks!

  • The value of the appliances need to be with that of the quality of the cabinetry in the kitchen. The Wolf brand is very high end. As far as getting value out of resale, this is entirely dependent upon your local market and the value of the home. If your in an upscale area it would be expected to see higher end appliances in the home. If your in a blue collar type neighborhood then stick with the appliances that are more price friendly. You also need to consider how long your planning to stay. If its only for a short while, your not going to see any of the value of the appliance in a short term use. Ideally the best person to speak to this is a realtor that sells property in the Gilbert area that understands the buyers and local market. In my area there are towns that would have nothing but Wolf or Sub-Zero appliances in them, yet next town over, Kenmore is the appliance of choice. check out this cost VS value report for the AZ area. http://www.remodeling.hw.net/cost-vs-value/2014/mountain/phoenix-az/

I don't know what brands you have access to, but Bosch has some marvelous products, & may be more pocket friendly than Wolf. I had Bosch appliances, including induction cooktop, in a rental & loved them. In my own home now I have a Miele DW I bought because at the time it was rated high for silence, & I love it. Also have Miele washer & dryer, but don't know about the rest of their products. Electrolux has a good rep here in Europe.

Thanks for your response. We happen to have bought Bosch mostly....we also purchased some Jenn Air items that Bosch did not have. We have yet to use them but looking forward to it. Actually, the Bosch repairman was just here as the Pop Up Vent is damaged and needs replacing. We got the Induction cooktop and the only things we have used are the dishwasher and microwave drawers. Very happy with them so far. I appreciate your comments! Thank You!
