Gardener's Hand Scrub

When the weather turns warm, I'm spending several hours outdoors in the garden. I do try to use my gloves as much as possible, but I do find it necessary to use my hands and fingers. The red clay soil in Georgia can be harsh and drying to my hands. I like the Satin Hands scrub by Mary Kay and was thrilled to find a simple DIY version. You simply take three ingredients: Dawn Oil of Olay dish detergent, I used Pomegranate Splash fragrance, sugar and olive oil. Combine these three ingredients in a jar of your choice - one like mine or a Ball or Mason jar. Decorate your jar as you like with ribbon, jute twine or a chalkboard label - like mine. I will keep this by the sink and use it daily while I happily play in the dirt! This is a fantastic, fragrant scrub that would make a wonderful Mother's Day gift.

I will try it IF I can find the Dawn during this quarantine. But I need to know the quantities of each item. Is it equal amounts or what? Thanks.

      saw this at

@Kerri Hercik-Estepp Kerri, the recipe is on the blog post. In a 4 oz. container you fill it 3/4 full with sugar then top it off with the soap and at that size about 1 to 2 tsp olive oil. Stir well. Add more sugar until you have a thick paste consistency.

This might be a great recipe for gift giving "if" we had the amounts of each ingredient used
