Update a Frame Mat With Some Paint!

Have you ever wanted to replace an old and outdated picture frame mat? I was so shocked at how expensive they are. So I decided to do the best thing I could do on a tight budget is to paint it. I have some really beautiful dark purple/blue colored acrylic paint and painted two coats and this picture of the LDS temple came alive again.
Say goodbye to this 80's mauve colored mat to a more modern looking one in minutes!
The first step is to unscrew or take the frame mat out of the frame.
Put a drop cloth on and place the mat on top of it. I painted two coats of acrylic paint and used a sponge brush because I'm easy like that.
