How To Organize On A Budget

Read the title of my blog and it's in your face: organizing.
For some, the word "organizing" causes one to cringe because they can't imagine having an organized life - let alone an organized life with LESS.
Do you ever think "but organizing costs MONEY!" If organizing DID cost money, I would tend to agree - why would you want to organize, only to find out that you have to spend money in order to do so? A double-whammy!
I am here to tell you that organizing does NOT have to cost money! I have compiled a list of ways to...
Organize on a budget:

1. Looking for totes? Use what you already have! If you are decluttering, you are bound to discover unused and empty totes, boxes, bins, etc.

2. When organizing a certain area, try to fit everything in that category in ONE bin - that way you don't have to buy MORE bins to fit everything. For example, if you have fall decor, have all of it fit in one bin. If you have keepsakes - put them all in ONE bin.

3. Are your purses thrown everywhere? Hammer in a few nails in your closet and hang them on the nails.

4. Scarfs in a pile? Instead of buying a "scarf organizer," just hang them on a hanger in your closet.
5. Find empty binders or folders to store your schedules, bills, projects you printed off, etc., instead of buying a whole filing system.

6. Use empty Velveeta boxes as kitchen utensil holders.

7. Jars and tin cans make excellent marker and pencil holders for a desk; decorate them with scrapbooking paper, wrapping paper, or paint to spice them up.

8. Shoe boxes make great keepsake boxes and storage containers. This is a picture of my husband's...no guessing what this is!
9. Use food storage containers to store your medicine - can even categorize by ailment.

10. Use lunchmeat containers to store little miscellaneous items.

11. Muffin tins make great earring and jewelry storage.

12. Ice cube trays can be used for earrings.

13. Use nails to hang pots in your kitchen.

These are just a small handful of creative ideas on how to organize on a budget!
