What is the best way to prep, clean & paint popcorn ceilings?

I am painting a bedroom the basic color white. The popcorn ceilings have cobwebs & are just very dirty. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

The only thing I can think of, if you don't want to scrape off the popcorn, is to vacuum them with a soft brush attachment.

You needs vacuum as much of the dirt and dust off as possible, then use KILZ ceiling paint and a thick nap roller.

if it were my house, I'd just scrape it all off, Hate that stuff, always dirty
