10 Smart Exterior Painting Tips
I saved a lot by painting my own house. I’m almost finished and want to share my 10 smart exterior painting tips. Follow these tips to make painting easier, last longer as well as look better. If you live in a small home like we do it’s really easy to paint with great results. Save your cash for another home project that you can’t DIY or put it toward a family vacation and make new memories.
We purchased a project house. Painting the exterior was a very doable project. I share several tips and shortcuts that I used to make painting the exterior easier.
One of my favorite tips is slather hand lotion onto all exposed skin when your painting. The paint will not stick to these areas. After washing your hands, put hand lotion back on! You'll be surprised how easily clean-up is. Otherwise, the more you wash your hands, the less oil you have on your skin and paint adheres well to a non-oily surface.
Start paintng from the top and work your way down. Always rinse your cut in brushes after a few hours so the paint doesn't dry in the top of your bristles and ruin your brush.
