A Farmhouse Cabinet
by
The Painted Drawer by Suzanne Bagheri
(IC: blogger)
A sweet little cabinet got a makeover using both Annie Sloan chalk paint and General Finishes milk paint. The body was first painted in a mix of Old White and Louis Blue. Once dried, GF milk paint in the color Seagull was applied and sanded back to allow the blue hue to pop through. Two new ceramic pulls in the drawers set off the lighter, more shabby farmhouse look.
The "before" pic.
The "after" pic. The lighter paint tones really gave this piece new life. It is now versatile and can fit in any room of the house.
I happen to love the contrast between the Seagull Gray body against the lighter doors.
I also distressed it back to give it more character and age.
