Home Office Reveal

This sunny room in our home used to be a den that didn't get much use... we demo'd the existing 7" deep shelves and replaced them with some Ikea Billy's that we framed out to look like built ins and created a lovely window seat from another Ikea media cabinet. New DIY Roman shades bring some warmth into the space and the cork focal wall is both functional and attractive! Brass and gold accents are scattered around the space and baskets not only wrangle wrapping paper but also hide the shredder. The desk was grabbed off of Craigslist, and the carpets were ones we already owned. It's SUCH an improvement that we can't wait to get to work!
Home Office Reveal.
This is the room during our walk through before we purchased the house a few years ago.
A close up up the DIY bench seat and the built ins.
That duck head was originally duck colored so I gave it a hit of gold spray paint. Those old embroidery hoops hold washi tape and the gold 'chair rail' adds some whimsy and also covers a messy seam where the cork rolls meet.
The cork wall comes in handy for magazine inspiration as well as family Instagram photos!
