Wanda on May 15, 2014Use a spray adhesive instead of hot glue, since you don't have access to a staple gun. Hot glue could cause bumps, bulges and uneven adhesion.Helpful Reply

Ruth Hamner on May 15, 2014Staples are definitely the best way to go. Hot glue will work but you don't have the ability to tighten the fabric. After I staple, I remove each staple and pull the fabric tighter to get a smooth finish. With hot glue you can't do that... Spray adhesive can be readjusted but not the same. At least it will have a smooth adhesion.Helpful Reply

Ruth Hamner on May 16, 2014Always remove old fabric and old padding. I use a 1" or 2" high density foam with a layer of Fatt Batt over it for padding for upholstering. Foam can be purchased at Joann's Fabrics. Looks professional and is comfortable.Helpful Reply
