Simple DIY Tent

If you can't make it to the campgrounds...you can make it to your own backyard for a little relaxation! This simple tent is the perfect place to read a book or color a picture. My girls are sure to enjoy it!
You will need 5 tomato stakes, twine, 5 1/2 yards of outdoor fabric, ribbon, sewing machine, pom pom fringe and hot glue.
Make a simple tent frame by pushing the stakes into the ground a couple of inches and adding the other one on top. Keep the tomato stakes the same distance apart as the width of your fabric.
Use twine to attach the stakes together at the top.
Turn up 1/2 inch around the entire piece of fabric and sew.
Fold the ribbon in half and sew 6 pieces on each side. Sew one at the top, one and the bottom and one in the middle of each side. It is best to lay the fabric on the tent and mark where each piece of ribbon should go before you sew them on.
Then hot glue the fringe to the inside seam of the front of the tent. Boys would probably want you to skip this part! :)
Tie the ribbon onto the stakes.
Enjoy your little slice of shade!
