Easy Hanging Baskets Couldn't Be Easier to Achieve

My hanging baskets always looked okay - but when my dear OH bought me the easy hanging baskets I was able to plant up some great looking baskets with ease.
Here's one of two baskets I have for either side of our back door. Notice the 'gates' laying on the table? They pop into the holes in the basket to hold each plant in place. My baskets have four holes in the bottom layer and eight in the next layer.
You start with a mound of earth in the bottom, followed by fertiliser and water retaining crystals. Then you add your four plants for the bottom layer and pop the gates into place.

This photo shows the next four plants added to the top layer. See how the gates don't damage the roots or the plants in any way? Again I've started by putting a mound of compost over the four plants on the bottom layer, before sliding these ones into place and slotting the gates into place as well. More fertiliser and water retaining crystals are added before putting the next four plants in and filling with compost to the top.
I've now added five more plants to the top layer, making 17 in all for each basket. All it needs now is a good water and strong arm muscles to lift it into place!

You might spot the four holes in the top rim - these are for the chains that slot into place before hanging it up from the wall bracket. I'll post some more photos to my blog soon once they really start growing, although we've seen some good growth of the plants already in less than 14 days since planting.

If you want the best hanging baskets this year, I thoroughly recommend using these. They're long lasting too so you'll have a great and enviable display year after year.

I've never seen this kind of planter before but I like this. I'm going to look for some in my area.
