Bathroom remodel for senior safety
-
Judy Parkey on May 29, 2014I bought a Toto brand universal height toilet. I paid more but do not regret one penny. It has a quiet and forceful flush. I left the tub as it was. It would have cost half what the house was worth to remove and then replace with an equivalent quality cast iron tub. I'll just make do when I'm really old.Helpful Reply

Tegma on May 30, 2014I am a 72 year old woman and I re-did my whole bathroom, myself, no help. I replaced the toilet with a higher one, easy on Seniors, and put in a new vanity and floor ing. It's not difficult. Just removed all the flooring you have and see if the sub-flooring is still good. If it is, you need not replace that. You don't say exactly what you need help with..... ???? Just let me encourage you that plumbing isn't that difficult. If I can do it, you can!Helpful Reply

266335 on Jul 12, 2014Replace the toilet with a higher one, also remove the shower and jacuzzi. Replace them with a walk-in or roll-in shower, with a door wide enough for a wheel chair, and/or with a built-in seat and ample grab bars and a showerhead can be either fixed or handheldHelpful Reply
