Adding upper cabinets

I want to add cabinets above the upper wall cabinets. What is the easiest, cost effective way to do this? The space above is empty now.

If you're handy with some power tools, take a look at some existing wall cabinets. Add some strips of wood to the wall and screw into the studs for the backs of shelves. Cut boards for shelves, build frame for the face, add side panels. Measure for the doors, either build a frame and insert glass, or other panel, or order them from a supplier.
