Sherrie on Jun 01, 2014Has she paid you? If she has put that money in the bank in escrow have your bank help you set it up. This shows good faith in case you go to court. It also shows you are a professional with professional standards. Did you do the job right? No streaks, no sloppy work, no smears Ect. This is not meant to insult you! Because I promise people will point out every single flaw. Keep emails, write down phone conversations, keep notes! If she gave you the go ahead and saw a sample of the finished product and she doesn't like the color this is her problem. If she had you paint the room and hated it..she still owes you for it. If she hasn't paid you go to small claims court. She is still liable and still needs to pay for your work. I get to know people and pay attention before I do business with them. I don't think there is a thing wrong with the paint or your job. What she envisioned she just didn't like it. Keep track and write everything down she says. This will help you later on. Keep your sample piece. I don't think anything you say or do is going to change this woman's mind. And there are just people out there like that through no fault of your own. But you will have to be able to stand up for yourself. Make sure you have all your ducks in a row when it's time.Helpful Reply

Simply Vintageous...by Suzan on Jun 02, 2014I think it's the lighting Gerry, like you said - were the top and bottom cupboards the exact same originally? I have 2 pieces I did in Antoinette - the one under the window looks very white - the one in the corner looks like a true pink - the lighting !!!Helpful Reply

Michelle Koch on Jun 02, 2014It is probably the lightening. I know that if you use varnish and not the suggested wax it can alter the color..Oh grr...hopefully you will hear back for AS and she can give you some advice..Hang in there! I'm sure that they turned out beautiful and she just needs time to adjust to the new color!Helpful Reply

R1335MB1 on Feb 16, 2015Its the gray coloring. Gray is hard to work with. I had pros paint 90% of my house walls gray. Left them and when to my shop. Came home to blue walls. when you open the can its gray. Took the same can of paint to my shop and painted a wall and its gray. Depends on what's been done under the paint. Call the paint company before this job costs you more than you'd like.Helpful Reply

HappyGrandmaGA on Feb 19, 2015It has to be the lighting! Tell your client that in the new homes in our subdivision (which was named the #1 spot to retire in the magazine) are 2 different colors on purpose!!! She is lucky these are showing a difference as this is the current trend. Maybe the woods are different, therefore taking the colors differently? I don't know but I sure hope this is resolved soon as I know how upsetting this is !!!Helpful Reply

HappyGrandmaGA on Feb 19, 2015Clarification - the cupboards are being installed having 2 different colors OR the cabinets are different from the island....very classy and up to date! Let's hope your client accepts this and moves on w/o any further trouble. Some people just like to complain about nothing, just hoping to get a discount and not have to pay the full amount...sad but true.Helpful Reply
