Ambie, there are loads of ideas here on Hometalk. If you have a particular need, certain room or items you need to organize, it would help us to know that. If you scroll through my posts you'll find some of my ideas. I write for the blog HomeSpot so they are not all about organizing, but many of them are. I'm obsessive about organizing so please ask a more detailed question and I'll be happy to help.

  I need storage for my soon to be cleaned out bedroom. Yarn, fabric, and other craft items, books, clothes, jewelry, makeup, and other odds and ends stuff.

  @Ambiecraftsreads, it really depends on how much you have, but here are some ideas I've used, Keep in mind I have enough fabric to start my own shop. I have three 18" deep industrial shelving units filled with clear plastic containers where I keep most of my fabrics. I sort by color and type of fabric. Some are labeled on the front, but for the most part I can see inside well enough that I can find what I'm looking for. Fabrics on bolts are in either in under the bed containers, that are actually under the couch in my "drawing room", in the clear plastic stand up wrapping paper storage containers or on shelves in armoires. I sort my yarn in those wire bins that you can also buy fabric bins/boxes for. Craft items are in smaller drawers that are then placed in one of the four armoires I have for fabrics and crafts or on shelves in a large cabinet that once belonged to my Folks. We are lucky to have twelve drawers in our master bathroom vanity, so I use one of them for my make up. I found a divided drawer tray that just happens to fit over the top edge of the drawer where I keep my, most used, makeup items. My brushes and such are kept in the drawer below the tray. For my jewelry, I buy the tiny zipper bags in the craft department/store to keep things from getting tangled up. Then I sort by groups and put them in sandwich zipper bags and those go into a nice box. It's not very pretty, but it keeps them neat and easy to find. As for the books we, again, have enough to open our own shop. We are lucky enough to have a home library with bookcases my hubby and I built. I recently moved my desk and computers to the Ladies' Parlor next to our library so I could be closer to hubby when we are both on our computers. I bought two bookcases so I could move the books only I read into this room. I'm quite obsessive about organizing so, many of the rooms in our home have chest of drawers in them. All of them were bought used or inherited. To me they are the best thing to keep ones home organized.

I use the inexpensive hat boxes found at discount stores or Hobby Lobby. I use old wooden jewelry boxes, baskets, old suitcases and trunks. Any of these can be labeled or compartmentalized for storage. Flea markets and yard sales are great for finding a lot of these items too!

One place for storage is under the bed. Make storage bins from plywood to fit on low casters to be rolled under a bed. A rope handle will allow them to be pulled out. This is particularly good for wrapping paper, art supplies, books, (great for kids toys in their rooms). I even saw on TV where a platform bed was made with open long cubbys underneath to store water skis because the adults were avid boaters! A bench at the foot of the bed can be used for storage.

hometalk has lots of amazing ideas. pinterest also has a lot of unique and thrifty storage ideas. could you specify where in your house you need storage help? (or is it just everywhere? :D)
