Painted and Numbered Stairs
by

I recently painted our front door a classic black. As I opened the front door to come in the house, I thought the stairs should "match" the new look. I had painted our entry stairs different colors a year ago.
But to match the new look, I painted them the same black color the door is.
I love the new color. I think it is classic! As soon as I painted the stairs, I was excited about them. I have always wanted numbers on our stairs and this was the perfect time to add them.
We finally have numbered stairs! I love the way they came out!

Jeanette S on Jun 06, 2014Thanks for this post. I have carpet on my 10 steps going upstairs on which I have to find a way to redo soon! They have been carpeted for 43 years so I imagine they are not in the best of shape. I wil probably wind up painting them! I am thinking black steps and white risers (since white trim already). Then maybe black numbers! Anyway, GREAT JOB!

Lindsay Eidahl on Jun 06, 2014I would love to have white trim! When we bought our house from the original owners, there was carpet on the stairs and all over. It was the first thing we did when we moved in. REmoved all the carpet to show the hardwood floors. THe back of the stairs looked good, but I just wanted to change them up a bit. Your white trim against the black will look awesome!
