Lulu Dubin on Jun 11, 2014Hey @Anna Ibarra I'm not familiar with the question you're referring to, but here's a link to a search that might help: http://www.hometalk.com/search/questions?filter=Covering+a+Patio+clear+Cover Did you try searching using the search bar located at the top right of the page? You can type in a search term and then click on the questions tab if you're sure it was asked as a question. Good luck!Helpful Reply

Barbara on Jun 11, 2014Home centers sell clear corrugated panels you could use. For runoff try adding shims to the slats before adding the panels.Helpful Reply

Lou on Jun 11, 2014I have had black tinted clear corrugated panels on our deck for many years. Got them from Home Depot. Ensure your roof is strong enough to support the panels (which are light) during high winds and rain. Good luck! :)Helpful Reply

Anna Ibarra on Jun 11, 2014Thank you Lulu, I have search for it, as someone posted asking how they could cover their existing pergola patio with a clear cover, maybe plexi glass, etc. ?? I didn't find it. But I am wanting to do the same as I want the light in my home. I have tried different ways to find it. Maybe I gave up too quickly.Helpful Reply

Lou on Jun 11, 2014I may be wrong yet I think you can get flat clear panel. An important note. Home Depot (and others) sell the corrugated panels I wrote about in plastic and the original much higher quality material. I have been told to stay away from the cheaper plastic. Excited for you!Helpful Reply

Lou on Jun 11, 2014I assume you have located a store with the flat panels. Recommend you get the brand name of the panels then contact that company. They may have a web site with further information. Sorry that I cannot answer that question for you.Helpful Reply

Denise on Nov 03, 2014I used the clear corrugated panels for my pergola. One thing to keep in mind is you have to overlap them several rows over or they will leak. I tried a new foam ($16/can) that worked great until I had to get the entire section installed at one time. This foam cracked, hence creating areas for leakage. I would suggest clear silicone to secure the panels to one another. Make sure you run the rows correctly to avoid leaks in the wrong places. I'm also considering running gutters in some places close to the house. Good luck!Helpful Reply

Hazel Adams on Jul 07, 2016I think that it is important find a canvas that you can lay across your roof. That way you can have shade. If you do a clear covering, then it will not provide shade. http://www.aluminumbuilders.com/patio-covers/Helpful Reply
