Painting tile floors....
I have 12" x 12" tile flooring that has a dull finish & slight wavy texture. Thinking along the lines of stamping, sponging or dry brushing (antiquing) paint on tile & painting grout a different color. What would be the best type of paint to use & would you need to seal the painted tiles with a polyurethane coating. I have stained grout before & would like to avoid that process & just use a small, narrow brush to neatly paint grout. I have mistakenly splattered paint on this tile floor with my many DIY projects & have always had to use a net scrubby or razor to remove the paint off the tile. Also, I cannot remove the paint off the grout. Please feel free to brainstorm with me! Cindy Lou

Debbie Harris on Jun 18, 2014Depends on the tile finish that you have now on what all has to be done. But normally you can seal it with a glass and tile surface conditioner, paint anything you want, then glaze it. Very expensive process for doing a whole floor though... You might want to re-think this one.Helpful Reply
