Need help identifying this plant. It's a shrub.

This plant hasn't bloomed in the four years that we've been here. It had been under a large maple tree that had to be removed last year and the little shrub took off in the full sun. We are putting in a deck and shade pavilion soon and I would like to know if it's worth the effort of moving and replanting. I probably sound a little harsh about that, but, there are several salvias to be moved and plenty of other stuff to clear. Any help would be really appreciated.
It isn't deciduous, if that helps.

Not a clue, but since you haven't gotten much pleasure from it in 4 years anyway...I wouldn't bat an eye at removing it.

I'm clueless, too, but I think I might take a cutting and take it to a good local nursery or your local extension office before I made the decision to take it out.

@R.V.R. Farris If it's a holly it's certainly worth keeping. They're handsome plants and provide excellent wildlife habitat.

It looks like my forsythia bush. If it's not blooming..get rid of it.

could it be cleyera? Not really glossy enough for that, but they are evergreen. The leaf formation is similar to a lorapetalem (Chinese fringe shrub) but all mine are a purple/burgundy color. Not sure if this helps, but I do see some similarities. Good luck!

@R.V.R. Farris I hope you can find out what your plant is. I have some pass along plants that my friend couldn't identify, so I'm searching too. I hope you find your answer soon.

The very top made me think of wild plum but further down, not sure. I'm going to check for "Smooth Leaf Holly" and see what that looks like. Wild plum blooms white in the Spring.

@Margaret Gerhardt -Both my husband and one of the ladies at the nursery thought maybe some kind of Holly, too. I looked up Smooth Leaved Holly, no winner. And this plant hasn't bloomed in the four plus years we've been here, but, it certainly is a good looking little shrub. And the fact that it can take full sun and keeps it leaves all winter makes it a "keeper" in our book. Thanks for the suggestions.

Thank you for the suggestions but this doesn't answer my question because I still don't know what the plant is.
