Take Store Bought Items to the Next Level w/ a Little Personalization!

Store bought items are great, but I like to add my own touch with a little crafty embellishment. See what I did with some basic cork trivets from IKEA.
I think these monogrammed trivets would make great gifts.
Take a basic cork trivet. (I got mine at IKEA.)
Make a stencil of whatever you want on the trivet. I used a letter but it could be an image as well.
I made my stencil using a Silhouette but you could also buy a stencil or even make one.
Put the stencil on to of the trivet.
Then you paint the negative space. Initially I used gold spray paint.
The end result was fine, but I wanted a crisper image.
So I tried again.
This time I used a Black Sharpie Paint Pen.
I love the end result!
